As a newbie I'd be interested to know how much help the kit design and the instructions give you to form the saddle tank correctly.
Actually quite good in that aspect, but they're pretty grim in other aspects sadly.

You do need to take your time and work through it, I've got another to do and I'll make up a 3D former to help with some of the lower curves where it transitions from the sharp bottom edge to the large overall radii.

Another project for this year to expand and develop, cast wheels, in this case some NER tender wheels. Loco to follow as well in due course.

This is an orientation test shot at 50 microns and isn't quite there finish wise, the artefacts should all go at 20 microns, but it's square and concentric which is the important test.

Calling this one done, off to the strip down shop to join the paint queue.

I will go back later and milliput the top (most of it will be coaled quite high though) inside of the bunker, I tend to do a whole batch of models gap filling in one shot, just saves on messy fingers and waste.

3D bits are loose, they go on after paint, just makes painting those areas/behind a touch easier.

Tank filler is a frangible part so gets fitted after paint.

Scorpio 645 saddle tank.

Something else bubbling along, finally got around to sorting the other wheel blanks for casting, there's still a few artifacts but they're all on areas to be skimmed so not really worth expending more energy cleaning them up.

These are all at 50 microns and you could use these but I'll run some 30 micron and one 20 micron off as a comparison and see if the extra layer fidelity is worth the time soak on the print bed.
