Mick's Pics 'n things 2mil

In the 2mm lounge is where I might be inclined to post a few pictures of things I've done in 2mil (and possibly some of what I'm doing at the time of posting). Some of these might well be historic but this little thread is intended only to be something of a photographic archive and not necessarily a chronological one either, in other words just about anything can rear its head here.

Wansbeck Road - Anybody remember Station Road before the railway was extended?

And now, after the extension, the march of progress. At least eight years separate the pictures..! 69387 is now in bits awaiting new chassis because I wasn't happy with the running.

Hi Mick
I recently obtained a load of the old Practical Railway Modeller magazines and one of the 1984 copies had an article on your Little Wansbeck 2 mm layout. Interesting do you have any photos of this still?
Cheers

Mick, I have always been impressed by this layout.

Any photos recently taken?

Thanks

Julian
Julian,

Sorry this has taken so long - I hardly visit Western Thunder these days. However, since you requested them, here are some fairly recent picture I took before the layout travelled 'down under' where it has a new lease of life with some Australian 2mm modellers. Some of the stock seen here is also now in the southern hemisphere. These pictures are all of the layout in its final form with the last extension added in 2009.

You also asked about Little Wansbeck'. Well that too is now with a new owner but a little closer to home. I was given the opportunity to repossess LW by then then owner John Minnis. When I got it home I took a couple of shots then gave it to one of our local group members so he could at least have a ready layout on which to test his stock. When I eventually remember where the pictures are stored I will post on here for you.

All the best,
Mick

Thank you Mick, look forward to them. There are many forums around and understand that WT is frequented by you but I for one would love to see the NE in 2mm!
Such atmosphere.
Cheers Julian

Here are three pictures I took of Little Wansbeck when I got it home and tidied it up a bit. Now showing signs of very old age. This was my first foray into 2FS with the station building and signal box modelled on those that now live in Beamish Museum, less than a mile from where I'm sitting as I type thisP1100132.JPGP1100134.JPGP1100133a.jpg.
