Even allowing for the significant foreshortening effect of the lens, I am at a complete loss as to what is going on with the rail here! View attachment 269658

I think the turnout has a jump frog (not sure of correct name) so no flangeway through the main running rail. The siding rails are raised to lift the flange over the rail and the vertical rise in the outer rail keeps the rolling stock laterally level. Low speed only.
