Hi Mate,

Did the coach kits come with interior detail, seating etc, ?
The reason I ask is because I have to produce some seating for the LSWR emu I have on the bench, amongst everything else, so may be worth knocking out some for these aswell.

Colin.

Hi JB,

You have been busy over the Christmas Holidays. The smokebox door looks the buisness, yet again the bar has been raised extremely high  . Are you going to simulate a working enigine, if so better make sure she hasn't done a hard days work or ash will be half way up the door and will hide all that excellent work :D  Can't wait to see the finished engine,

Best regards Mick

Thanks guys..

Think I shall do some work on the Chassis next so that I can pull it round West Mersea behind another engine at least.. I need to ensure I can get the large Zimo decoder into the body aswell.

I'll see what I can do Ian..  :))

I just got a message from 7mm Mick about how I recently sprung the GWR Hydra Plate wagon for Scale7..

It's quite simple really, though just takes a little while to do.. I have attached a highly inaccurate drawing to help.. All that is really needed to be bought are some Slaters wagon hornblocks.. They will sell these separately as you dont need the 'w' irons for this application. And then some wagon grade coil springs.

JB,

Thanks for taking the time to put that together it really is much appreciated and seems reasonably straight forward so when I have the parts I'll have a go and post mt progress. Just another quick favour though but i'll pm that,

Many thanks again Mick

Well, in time honoured fashion, rather than finishing the kits that I have already started, I commenced on another kit I purchased from Colin Dowling (a.k.a eastsidepilot on here).

I had forgotten just how good Jim McGeown's offerings are, put this lot together in about 3 hours.. If I didn't have big plans for it, it could well have been another 'engine in a week' like the J68..

JB.

Hi JB,

Looks great so far, i'm guessing G5 but i'm viewing on my mobile so maybe wrong. I totally agree about Jim's stuff, i'm really enjoying the Tube wagon build and have a J71 and G5 on the wish list from Jim. How's the L1 coming along ??

Best Regards Mick

Hi Mick, the L1 is errr.... coming along..

I was at Sudbury on Wednesday and managed to pantograph mill the plastic hornguides for the L1 which went surprisingly well.... I should hopefully be fitting them to the frames very soon, and so then I can start working on the valve gear... It's coming along slowly, but like I said I've now got far too much going on the workbench now haha..

K2 is coming along slowly too, with a freshly rolled and rivited smokebox wrapper. This will, like the L1 have a detailed smokebox. It needs to really to show off the differences in the cylinders on my chosen K2-2/2 !

That looks rather nice  8)  I must step my output up a bit, I feel like I'm not really achieving much at the moment.

Probably not as its our twenty week scan on wednesday. Also my plan was to get a few bits finished so I can give them a run out on West Mersea, do you know any good K2's that will provide motive power ?? I'm hoping to get down around the end of feb all being well, fingers crossed things will run through the points !

See you soon Mick

I know of a K2 that's not finished yet ! Will the other K2 get finished first ? or will it be the G5 ? Ha Ha.
What's it to be JB ? For God's sake don't by that bloody Brittania on Ebay ;D too many models at once mate and you'll lose all your hair, just look at me !  :))

JB, On a more sensible note, are you thinking of building the G5 with the push - pull gear fitted as I think that is what 's required for the WMR mate.
