Simple CAM

Hi has anyone out any idea where I can get a very simple CAM package, preferably free.

I can do do simple 2D G-code (which is simple) but as soon as you add curves it starts to get tricky. I'm trying to basically do profile milling but with my CNC miller. Coupling rods and chassis, is my aim but also possibly pushing out rivets in line equally spaced with pointer as well. So I don't need all the bell and whistles that come with CAM packages + the learning curve. Just something that will convert a line into G-Code. Thanks in anticipation of your thoughts

Hi Simon

Thanks for those links. I have loaded dxf2gcode, as that sounds the more relevant, it runs but having difficulty trying to understand what's going on, but's it's early days. It's probably one of those things I have sit down and play for a few hours.

if you can save a file as a dxf there is freeware called codeshark that will turn a dxf set of curves into G code.
