Yes, both rotate to suck air in through the sides and exhaust through the top.I do actually have some designs on fans for this one (laser cut frame), so watch this spaceone question though I am assuming each pair rotates in the same direction?

You are correct when dealing with un-refurbished engines - mechanical gearbox... Not so with the refurb engines which have - I understand - a thermostatic control of a hydraulic gearbox.
Now do us poor chaps (who can afford neither 3D printing nor CNC cutting) get a look in?

Bogie wonderland 
W/m BR1, 2 minutes to assemble, but no brake gear.
The etched version, I quite like these, they are a nice compromise between detail and being robust enough for heavy running
Commonwealth - the parts for one bogie, brake gear is in the box behind. It wont get much further until I get a suitable square file for cleaning out the hornblocks.

Haven't you got two or three 1/32" Mk1s knocking around somewhere? I'd be interested to see those get built.

Im trying to knock out 7mm jobs at the moment, and doing 8 mk1's seems good preparation for the big ones

This is what im letting myself in for, I started lying them out on the workshop floor but ran out of space 
L to R CK, BCK, SK, BSK, SO, FK, RB, CK. I may see if a CK can be swopped for another SK, but as I didnt pay full price so I cant be too fussy
It is destined to be a running set, therefore it needs to be sufficiently robust to withstand handling, and in my experience coaching stock seems to get more abuse than locos. There will be some etching for the window surrounds, which is the biggest failing of the kits, couplings will be Kaydee, the corridor connections need to functional, so some thought there, and the underframe will get a little revision as im not happy glueing heavy castings to the floor.
Oh, and im aiming for Christmas to have them all ready for painting, as I have those buildings for Wallingford to attend to.......

Didn't you say somewhere that you put in about six hours per day? Wow!
I'm just about to start a thread on building three Easy Build coaches (which might be easy, but are neither simple nor quick) - it might be christmas 2112 for me to get that far!!!!!!

At the moment about 5hrs, an hour between 5.30 and 6.30 when the kids wake us up, and evenings after 7.30.
It's just a question if doing everything as a batch. Coach building is quite tedious, so I set up the operations to be as efficient as possible, and when operation gets too tedious switch to something else.

My biggest hint for the Easybuild is to prime the sides while they are flat and sand any witness marks from the extrusion process, then fit all the door furniture an window detail before assembly. It is much, much easier in the flat.CHRISTMAS !!!!

I was just thinking I will enjoy this build..........although if I'm honest, it's partly because it's a lot more fun watching someone else building a rake than it is building one yourself
Will you be doing your own window frames or using after market ones ?
Could I also ask what livery ? .......but at the same time reminding certain members that this is not a que for a livery debate!

Livery:- I like Carmine and cream but its too early, I dont want all maroon (too much LMS
) Mixed B/G and with a couple of maroon headed by a maroon Western appeals as does a green Western with with WR choc cream/ Maroon. I need to check out a few photos

I would agree with Cynric about the door furniture but only if the colour of the coach is one colour ie green, maroon. Otherwise if its blue/grey or blood/custard then its alot harder to mask off for the "other" colour. Plus the door stops are right on the divide line, so they need to definately be added after spraying/painting.
