Thanks Mike, I still have a few more to go before the bench is clear but I am certainly making progress.

Another one bites the dust. I put the transfers on the Connoisseur Milk van last night and gave it a blow over with some satin varnish to seal them. All the lining has been done with a Haff bow pen and a fine brush.

All in all another cracking kit from Jim.

Yet another long time inhabitant of the workbench joins the weathering queue.

This is the MSE Former S&D Horsebox (the one with the leather seat).



Which shows up quite well.











The reason that it has sat so long is that I attempted to line it but in the end there just wasn't enough on the beading to make a successful job of it. I got the yellow on but when it cam to the black it ultimately covered the yellow so I ended up respraying it

Most definitely, probably not as heavily weathered as some.

The kit could be described as a little agricultural compared with more modern kits but it can't be all that bad as I have a Midland horsebox in the pile from the same stable (admittedly looking at it, it does look to be a later generation than this one). I believe that this is another one that's now in Chris Basten's range (Dragon).

I am still managing to keep up the momentum. These three have just joined the line for weathering. They all have premier couplings and one still needs it 's buffers fitting (it's one of the very old Slaters kits where the buffer heads were in two parts and the couplings were pressed steel).









I now need a source of cheap 7mm scale cattle - the Slaters ones are £11 for 3 now

How about asking Chris to sculpt some bovine beasts and then you can go down the track of resing casting... after all you have so many cattle wagons that you will need a couple of fields of cows.
