This is great stuff. Thanks I now have a starting point and I take the point about the size of trains most people can run but I think the chose should be yours. I wanted to build a Bournemouth set but there's a car missing because its a shorter coach and you cant use the std parts that the company has. The big thing for me is that etched coaches look to flat and by that I mean thin. Be it wood or metal all coaches have body frames that the skin is fitted to and although the skid is thin the frames are not. I've been doing coach kits in 4mm, 10mm and 7mm for over 40 years and there some fantastic models out there it's always bugged me they never quite catch the look of weight and bulk. I had over 200 Mk1,2 and 3 as well as a few old wooden bodied coaches on the network. I think we rebuilt most of the one's still running on the steam sets we also did some interesting mods. We can only get it right if we work together. There are some great model coach builders out there. If we work together then may be we can all get what we want.
