Nothing really to report other than I'm still alive and kicking.
June involved a couple of trips up to Carlisle way to help a friend dismantle and transport the P4 Kings Cross layout down to the Midlands. Other than that nothing train related.
So, what have I been up to? Making the most of the weather and pleasant mornings before work to attack loads of unfinished jobs around the house. They were really starting to annoy me, so all the train toys have gone away to be replaced by the nasty power tool collection.
Lots achieved so far and it's successfully raised spirits.
Currently I'm tackling removing and bricking up and old fire place. It's revealed quite a lot of history about or 1970s house in the process. It was built with coal fires and built in hearths with flowery tiles. In the 80s that was badly sealed up and a cast concrete fireplace surround added for a coal effect gas fire. That was condemned when tested back in 2007.
Currently at the end of the very messy destruction, and will build the wall back up, complete with air brick.
Sorry, unlikely to be trains for a while, but enjoying seeing what others are up to on their threads.

Oh, and lots of gardening to tame the wilderness and lots of going through sorting out 20 years of "stuff" that's accumulated in the house.
Oh and, demolishing a boundary wall that was not far from falling over...
The arisings from which have been saved for hardcore and edgings for a planned path...
So I've been active and busy, just not on the model railway front.

I have the boards that formed the outer circuit and fiddle yard. The station has gone elsewhere, but is in very safe hands.
It’s going to need some modification to fit the available space, but it will be worthwhile.

Cheers chap, a couple of enjoyable days wandering up to Carlisle - I won't forget all those steps in a hurry!
Going to look great in its new home - great to see all that effort in the trackwork not end up in a skip.

Thanks Barry, that's not the half of what's been occurring... At least I'm getting to the "putting back better" stage with some of the multitude of parallel projects.
Yes, it's silly doing so many things at once but there's logic in the madness I promise. Lots of interdependences and, as a plus, the ability to do different things depending on which project is in the shade!
This evening, as well as clearing space in the garage for a plaster board delivery, I've excavated the rock hard tree stump that is in the way of putting back the boundary wall that was falling over. A pig of a job as the dig was hemmed in on all sides - 2 walls, a concrete slabs and a shed.
Not much to show for all the blood, sweat and swearing...
