No problem at all, gents. But first I am going to make a short video of the Howes and SWD soundcards as fitted to D1054 and D1016 respectively for Cynric, et al. I've finished touching up Mr Manton's already excellent paint job on D1016 (a couple of inadvertant scratches by the owner..... oops!), and she's ready for a test run down at Longroyd tomorrow evening. So, I'll be taking the camera and video along and will post the results over the next couple of days.... then we can have a vote on which you think is best...... I have my own opinion having run up the relatively new '52 (D1013 recording) from SWD, but I'll let you make up your own minds:eek::oops::rolleyes::confused::cool: Perhaps a vote is called for?

I do like these idea's I remember when I was a newly qualified Senior Conductor for BR one of the trainers tried to get me interested in a covernant for a proposed A1 Pacific that a few like minded individuals had thought up estimated cost £1,000,000.00 at those prices 20+ years ago, lets hope this project gets off the ground then perhaps we can get on to some reals loco's like a NBL or whatever

OK, here's the brief video comparison I managed to do last night between D1016 fitted with SWD Loksound 3.5, and D1054 with the Howes Loksound 3.5 decoder. Let us know what you think!

Hmmmm.. pretty comprehensive then. Actually, I like the acceleration on the SWD, but the ticking over, the horns and the twin start-up means I'll be sticking with Howes for mine too.

Driving was fine with both, but then I'm a careful driver anyway;) The delay on starting off is a real pain (SWD) if you want to move your loco quickly but, in fairness to SWD, they do include CV 3 & 4 disabling through F12 which resolves this if you're in a hurry.

Ah well, on to the next one - going for glass windows in these next ones ! D1063 & D1026 next on the rota.
